Our BMD puppies and rewards (2023) - Emerald Liberty Kennel
(And how to check a breeder)
All our dogs have verified medical tests and pedigrees, as well as champion titles from different Dog Shows all across the Europe, which you can check on Berner-Garde
We answer any questions you have about our dogs, our practices and how we take care of our dogs and puppies
We are eager to have a video call with you, showing our kennel and dogs, telling our history and help you find the puppy that is best suited for you
You can check it by entering "EMERALDLIBERTY" at the bottom of the page on official FCI site (external link) or see all registered kennels navigating by selecting a combination of first three letters of a kennel you're looking for ("EME")
We always were interested in genetics, genome inheritance laws, breeding standards and Bernese Mountain Dogs, so we combined these two interests and learned a lot about canines, including their psychology in a certified university, have finished our education and assisted judges on Dog Shows, getting additional experience from the judging side, contrary to our previous excessive experience of showing our dogs on such Dog Shows
(And how to find a good breeder)
We're happy owners of Bernese Mountain Dogs since 2014 🐾
With prior expertise of having a kennel of kittens! 🐈😸
We thoroughly choose our dogs and their partners, verifying their pedigree, selecting only Berners with Great Phenotype that meets (and exceeds in a good way) breed standards, resulting in strong, healthy, psychologically stable dogs with the breed-specific most adorable traits and behaviour
We have a great understanding of how genetic inheritance works and can get the most affectionate and healthiest puppies by selecting the right dog pairs. We raise our puppies, spending a lot of time with them daily, seeing all the little details of their behavior and their individuality, and can match them with the best families possible
One thing when a proud parents cherish their children and praise their achievements not seeing clearly from all perspectives, wearing "pink glasses", but another thing is when the most respectable judges choose your children from a small selection of best of the best, and grant them highest awards in the World!
We don't have pink glasses and know our strength for sure, which was proved multiple times by multiple judges
We can't imagine a life without our dogs and puppies - they're always with us and we love to travel with them a lot!
Berners are a family-uniting breed, they're a hearthstone or a fireplace, around which the whole family gathers. And the best part is that they're not limited to one room as fireplaces are - Berners come with you wherever you go and bring warmth and joy with them!
Puppies also have us and caring aunties (our adult dogs) + children and a cat, what provides best atmosphere for development and socialization. Puppies learn everything an adult dog needs to know from their first days.
(It's even written in breeding rules that a puppy should not be taken away from his mom for at least first 8 weeks. It is deemed an important developmental period by breeders and veterinarians. Some countries have laws in place preventing puppies from being taken away any earlier)
Crossing breeds is very dangerous and unpredictable - mixed puppies struggle psychologically, end up aggressive or unstable and get health problems of BOTH breeds with higher chance of developing problems that can't be cured. Breed standards exist for a reason, and any inconsistency with breed standards can lead to health issues, mental issues or hinting on having another breed in pedigree.
We love Bernese, so we care for them and their wellbeing, and we don't sign them up for any problems coming down the line of having another breed mixed in
Some kennels make people wait for 2+ years in waiting line, collecting irrevocable reservation fees only to get a puppy chosen for them by someone else, without providing a right of choice...
We don't even look for customers before puppies are born. After our friends and subscribers find out that we have newborns, they consult with us, research each puppy traits, learn who of puppies is better match for them by telling us about themselves, and we advice them on which puppy would be happier to live in their family
Some kennels force customers to sign a contract forcing them to neuter or spay their puppy before they reach 4/6/8/12 months of age or when customers want to cross any country border with their puppy.
It doesn't point to kennels wanting to preserve their precious unique bloodlines, but does point to them not wanting a competition in their questionable practices.
It's a choice that should be made by you and your vet with taking in consideration dog's activity level, feeding practices and wishes to participate in Dog Shows
